What is diagnostic hysteroscopy?
It is an endoscopic visualization of the internal part of the womb (uterus), with help of a camera.

How is it formed?
It is performed under short-acting general anesthesia, It’s a day care procedure, wherein there are only 4-5 hours of hospital admission.

The patient under anesthesia is put in lithotomy position, which is very similar to the position when a pap’s smear is done and then through the vaginal route a thin telescope is introduced to visualize the internal part of the womb and if one finds any abnormal pathology, like a uterine polyp, septum, adhesions, fibroid, it is removed in the same sitting.

Dr. Bhavna Banga, has a dedicated team of fertility enhancing surgeons, who carry out the procedure, but Dr Banga, makes a point to be present at the time of the operations.

How many days do I require to take rest?
If it’s a diagnostic hysteroscopy, then you could resume work, immediately the next day,as there are no stitches taken since the route of entry is the vaginal opening.

In case of operative procedure like removal of fibroids, polyp, uterine septum, etc. you may take a rest for 2 days.

Is this procedure covered under insurance?
